There’s a big part of us that doesn’t like chaos, to avoid fear of the unknown, we strive to always be in control. 

And so when it feels like everything is teetering on the edge of anarchy, we find ourselves overwhelmed, struggling to keep afloat and scrambling for some kind of stability or a sense of control.

 In fact, the uncertainty brought in by the chaos is perhaps the main cause of our anxiety, stress, frustration, self-doubt, fears, procrastination, distraction and other negative mental states. But if we could relax in the middle of that chaos, find the point of stillness and calm, we can gain better perspectives and achieve a sense of order and contentment.

What it means to be centred?

The concept of being centred means being balanced and at peace. It is often referred to as a state of emotional and spiritual equilibrium. It allows you to be accepting of the good and the bad in life and understand that things are always changing, but you can return back to your centre to help yourself feel more balanced and grounded when things get difficult.

Being grounded and centred is more of an emotionally controlled state. Similar to mindfulness, it is a position where you are connected to how you are feeling, what you are thinking and you feel in control of these thoughts and emotions.

The goal is to feel what you feel in the moment, but also be reflective and pensive about the situation so that you are more centred and in control of your experience. This is a time when we want to focus on having balance between our emotions and our thoughts.

Being centred or being able to return to centre during an emotionally difficult situation is very helpful. Centring allows you a moment of self-reflection and to work on self improvement.

Oracle or Tarot card reading is the practice of divining wisdom and guidance through a specific spread or layout of cards.  The cards may provide insights into the innermost truths of your higher self.
